These connectors may work if your power cord is new and flexible; Mine is 7 years old and hard. After soldering the connector to the spare lamp wires, I couldn't get the tiny pins to puncture the insulation of my 12 gauge power cord, so I used pliers to apply more force to the connector. It broke. Luckily I also bought a pair of Malibu Low Voltage Fastlock Cable Twisted Connectors and that saved the day. More force is used to screw the connector pins into the cable, and the slightly longer pins on the rotating connectors easily penetrate the insulation and form a circuit. I do not recommend these connectors and would recommend Malibu Low Voltage Fastlock Twisted Cable Connectors instead. I bought both types of connectors to try and the twist connectors win easily.
