Good but not great.

If you need a basic video switcher, this is the device for you. Pros: Affordable price Easy to use No external power required Cons: Video quality. Switching doesn't isolate, it simply grounds all other signals. Poor shielding will produce noticeable artifacts when using S-Video. Composite and S-Video outputs are also not isolated, so if you connect a Composite or S-Video input, it will route to both S-Video and Composite (i.e. even if your device is only connected to Composite, the S-Video output still do this send signal). This is good for compatibility between newer and older devices, but at the expense of overall quality (diagonal lines and checkerboard patterns on the S-Video output). The switches are on buttons, but the weight of the device means you'll need some sort of mounting solution, or when you press the button the entire device moves. - disruptions. Audio channels are poorly isolated. A high-pitched screeching can be heard in bright scenes. This is likely the result of RF interference from the composite signal leaking into the audio. All in all, not a bad device for the price, but if you're dealing with high-end audio/video gear, you might want to look elsewhere. This will prove to be the weakest link in your setup.

Pros
  • Value for money
Cons
  • Clarity
