I was very disappointed when the shoes arrived and they didn't have velcro. All of my reasons for buying it were for this reason. I wanted something light that my 5 year old daughter could wear on her own. It's not just the idea of teaching her how to tie her shoelaces, it's just the fact that heeled shoes are really hard to get on little feet without untying all the laces first. It's a nightmare if you don't have all day!
