I have fine, flowy hair and needed something to keep it off my face. When I think of bobby pins, I think of old-fashioned bobby pins. It's not like that, and unless you have thick hair, it just won't hold up. I tried to pin my hair back and one of the pins fell right into the sink. They are parted a full ¼ inch at the ends, too much to hold fine to medium hair. These hair clips are lightweight but well made. Instead of pulling out a bobby pin and inserting it into my hair, they are meant to be inserted directly into my hair. The ends are dipped in plastic to prevent accidental damage to the scalp. As for the can, it's good, but you can find something at a dollar store. I wanted to love these hair clips, but while they may suit others, they don't suit me at all.
