Does what it says it does, it turns on my laptop but the problem is that the middle part of the cable (the part where one end of the cable is connected) is very strong gets hot when using a laptop so I have to unplug the laptop when using it. The problem is that this is an old laptop and will only run for about an hour before the battery dies. So I'll plug it in but not use it while it's charging. Pretty uncomfortable. I've noticed this with other cables as well, so maybe it's just a way to make replacement cables? It looks like a fire hazard to me, so I'm basically not using this laptop anymore.
