Wow, what a nice big serving bowl! When not in use for serving, it can be a great fruit bowl or table centerpiece. I love the simple, clean lines of this Fitz and Floyd Everyday White classic. Elegant and timeless, this simple white plate will really make your meal stand out. There is no pattern or protruding parts to disturb the design, which also makes it easy to clean. I have used this bowl in the microwave to cook rice and also in the oven to keep food warm until ready to serve. Porcelain is slippery. If you're used to heavy ceramic or textured porcelain stoneware, be aware that this bowl is quite slippery when wet and its size and weight make it quite bulky in the sink. When washing my hands, I would have been close to dropping it several times. Of course it can be washed in the dishwasher, but I usually wash such large pieces by hand. It's easy to clean, nothing sticks to it, even melted cheese or starchy potatoes slide off instantly. All in all, this is a beautiful serving platter that will never go out of style and will last for many years if you don't break it! I also love that there are many other more complete pieces to go with this simple classic set, but since it's so clean and simple you shouldn't have any trouble pairing any of the white porcelain pieces with this set. I am very happy and intend to add to my collection, now I have this bowl and a service set for 4 in the classic Everyday White rim and I love all the pieces!
