I have been using speedbags for over 45 years and have found that proper inflation is the key to a consistently rebounding bag. I bought this inflator specifically for my collection of 4 bags ranging in size from 'peanut' to medium. All bags require a pressure of 4psi. The "peanut" bag is very difficult to fill properly - it's a small black bag, not much bigger than my fist, and it moves like a hummingbird when I open it quickly. I air my bags every workout, 3-4 days a week. I've tried using a pressure gauge, but on a very small speedbag you can easily lose about 0.5psi by inserting and removing the gauge and inserting and removing the pump needle. . I've included a photo of 2 of my 4 bags so you can see how small the peanut bags are and how difficult it is to get accurate air filling. I typically partially inflate new speedbag bags to around 90% capacity and then use Pumtech to finish inflation to 4psi. That's why this pump is such a good choice for my purposes. You set a target pressure, insert a needle, and start the pump, which turns off automatically when it reaches the target pressure. I don't have to charge the pump often because my bags have low air volume and when you fill basketballs it can take a lot of charging but I'm not sure. But this pump works great for me! hope that helps
