Review on 🌐 Enhanced Connectivity with Verizon DSL Gateway: Unleashing High-Speed Internet Access by Tyrell Rike

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good so far. best in Computers and Accessories

I recently purchased this Verizon DSL Gateway which is actually an Actiontech GT704WG built specifically for Verizon DSL users. My service was intermittent with my six year old Westell so I first bought a Netgear Wireless N router/modem but neither I nor Netgear nor Verizon could get it to work. I returned the Netgear and bought it, plugged it in, connected the cables, turned it on and within 30-45 seconds I was up and running. No support calls, no fiddling, it just worked. It also stopped the intermittent power outages I had with Westell. (I have noise on my phone line, but it doesn't seem to affect this gateway the way it does my Westell.) I use two (wired) PCs and one (wireless) laptop on them. I had to enter a new WEP address when I turned on my laptop, but the process was very simple. As the laptop booted up it said it found a new network and needed a WEP address, then opened a window to enter the address. There was a card with the modem saying this would happen and I was told the address was on the bottom of the modem. I punched in the numbers and within seconds I was online with my laptop. This is useful because nobody can use your wireless service unless they know the WEP address, so that's a good thing. It looks a little cheap and who knows how long it will last, but for the past three days I've been enjoying fast - uninterrupted internet access. The box says it ONLY works with Verizon's DSL service.
