I'm actually a male (straight male) but I still wear them when I go fishing. I don't like heavy oars because they are very heavy and uncomfortable in hot weather when I'm fishing all day. They work amazing, very light, very stretchy and the locking mechanism is better than the $18 I've used in my opinion. As for durability, I don't know yet - others are sturdy despite being plastic, and this locking mechanism is more vulnerable as it relies on a spring while the other has no spring. But the price is way better than I just got a few of these.
