Review on πŸ”₯ Non-Touch Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter by Kenny Sarma

Great tool for your money!

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. The plasma cutter is good value for money and the company provided excellent customer service and communication. There were a few minor issues with the plasma cutter that I would like to mention. First, the instruction manual is not very good. Rather than writing a manual for the new model, it seems they simply took the manual from the older product (Cut50 Non-Pilot Arc) and added additional text to describe the additional features and functionality that differed from the older model. Because of this, the guide is confusing and not accurate. I had to figure out some features myself. I was lucky enough to have an old Cut50 model so I already knew how a plasma cutter was supposed to work. The reason I bought the Cut50P is because it has a pilot arc. The pilot arc makes the tool much easier and more controllable to use than the old non-pilot arc model. The problem I didn't like about this new model is the very short power cord. Its length is less than a meter (about 2 feet). I bought a six foot power cord and plug that fits my 240 volt outlet in my garage and connected the new cord to the plasma cutter cord. BTW, although a plasma cutter runs on 120 volts, I don't recommend it unless you only plan on cutting very thin metals. When I tried running it on 120 volts I found that the arc was unstable and the machine was producing a lot of spatter. Everything worked much better when I removed the 120 volt plug and installed the 240 volt plug. For new users who have little to no experience with a plasma cutter, I highly recommend spending some time cutting the leftovers. Just like when you start welding, the results will be terrible and you will have to use a lot of consumables until you become comfortable with it. Like welding, everything has to be done right to get a smooth, clean, and beautiful cut. You must select the correct current, torch speed, and air pressure for the thickness and type of metal you intend to cut. I find it useful to use the grates that come with the consumables. The gap helps the user maintain a constant height of the torch tip over the workpiece. Over time, you may not want or need to use racks, but it takes many hours of practice to achieve this. I also recommend keeping the torch tip clean and free of metal spatter and always avoiding the torch tip touching the work piece. Not only can touching the work piece clog the tip, but if it happens too often and the tip is held on the work piece for too long, it can damage the electronics of the plasma torch. I hope these few suggestions help someone and I hope they are as happy with this plasma cutter as I am!
