Lubricate float rod before installation

After installation I found the instructions on the bottom of the box. You need to lubricate the float rod to keep it from being corroded by sewer gases and keep it moving up and down. Otherwise it appears to be a well-built, heavy-duty quality product. I have two drains in the basement of an old house in Chicago, and one is slightly larger than the other. It fit well in one and I've just ordered another. My sewers are updated every seven years, so it may take some time before I can test them. We have some water issues in our basement so I also used RadonSeal Crack Repair (which I also highly recommend) and ordered a RadonSeal PipeTite repair kit. Good luck with your water problem!

Pros
  • A screwdriver and a few minutes is all it takes to install the flood protection
Cons
  • Clarity
