Description of 🌊 General Wire Flood Guard Float Model, Small 4-Inch, Plated - Enhanced for SEO

The product is manufactured in China. The product is highly durable and easy to use. Easy installation and easy handling. A screwdriver and a couple of minutes are all you need to install a Flood-Guard. For extreme and/or extended pressure, we recommend our standpipe models. Gaskets are made of molded rubber and all metal parts are plated or stainless steel. A screwdriver and a couple of minutes are all you need to install a Flood-Guard. Lubricate float rod before installation

After installation I found the instructions on the bottom of the box. You need to lubricate the float rod to keep it from being corroded by sewer gases and keep it moving up and down. Otherwise it appears to be a well-built, heavy-duty quality product. I have two drains in the basement of an old house in Chicago, and one is slightly larger than the other. It fit well in one and I've just ordered another. My sewers are updated every seven years, so it may take some time before I can test them…

Pros
  • A screwdriver and a few minutes is all it takes to install the flood protection
Cons
  • Clarity

This protective cover will not fit 4 " ID ceramic floor drains

This protective cover will not fit 4" ID ceramic floor drains. The guard is only 3 and 3/4 OD and can be extended an additional 1/8" by tightening the screws. This will still leave it loose in the drain pipe. To get this to work I had to wrap 7 feet of 1" wide duct tape around the rubber ring to fit snugly in the drain pipe and then by tightening 4 bolts I was able to extend that extra 1/8". and create a strong hermetic seal. other reviews mention the use of black tape for this purpose. Too bad

Pros
  • Easy to install and handle
Cons
  • Nothing

Didn't help prevent suds from resetting.

I had high hopes for this Flood Guard. It was hard to find at the local hardware store, so I was happy to see it at Revain for a reasonable price. While it proved to be high quality, easy to install and fit easily in my sink, it still prevented suds from forming when using the washing machine. (UPDATE: Instead of one star, I've raised this one to three to be fair. I originally needed something to remove laundry soap scum running down the drain and was told it would help. Unfortunately, it…

Pros
  • A screwdriver and a few minutes is all it takes to install the Flood Guard.
Cons
  • Weak Set

Fits perfectly in my 4 inch basement floor drain and has a nice snug fit when tightened. This is only installed in finished form. part of the basement drains, so that the water flows back, it still flows out of the floor drains in the shell and ends up in the sewers before reaching the finished area. Our sewer is also under the basement. even. If the sewers hold up, I'll be screwed anyway and it won't do any good. Putting it in the sewer doesn't help in this case as it just displaces the sewage

Pros
  • Seals are molded rubber and all metal parts are zinc plated or stainless steel.
Cons
  • So So
