I spent over $600 converting old VHS family videos to digital and chose Bipra External HD decided as storage. I've had this product less than 3 months and have only used it on SEVERAL occasions before it became undetectable when plugged into USB. I realize that you should "eject" the external hard drive, not just pull it out. I've noticed that when using it with a laptop, any movement of the cable pulls the USB stick out on its own. This has only happened once or twice. Luckily a relative has backup copies of these videos but imagine if it weren't I know this is one of the cheaper external hard drives listed here on Amazon but I thought it was more to do with the small amount of storage has that meets my requirements than with the quality.
