This is an attractive and durable monitor stand that is taller than most other models and is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted my laptop on the second shelf. The only thing to note is that since the sides are solid, in order to plug my laptop into a power source and plug the monitor cable into the USB port, I have to slide the laptop back enough that it's about 1.5 " behind the edge of the riser. inch to gain access to the fittings.
