I bought it for my children aged 4 and 7. Both love it, as do I. It's relatively easy to assemble. My 7 year old followed the base stabilization booklet's recommendation by starting with a triangular shape and was able to do so with no problem. My 4 year old made it himself but it tipped over because it got too big and didn't have any support posts. However, he learned, and that is the most wonderful thing about this toy. It makes them think about how to build. The beads are great, we didn't use them in the dark but I illuminated them with the attached light and they glow in the dark as advertised. Overall a great toy, fun to build. It's durable and features a gender-neutral color scheme. Makes a great gift.
