This computer is very slow. When I bought it I realized it wasn't top notch, but since my needs are basic (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) and not high tech gaming and graphics I thought it would be good and the price was great . However, after less than a month of use, I'm seriously considering getting another computer - it's so slow. I can't destroy this computer; I know you get what you pay for, but the bottom line is I wouldn't buy this computer again at any price. At work I have to use old computers with outdated operating systems, and they are no slower than this model. I wish I could pay the extra money and get a better model. Let me add: After losing my mind at how slow this PC was, I finally took the plunge and completely reinstalled Windows 8.1. This got rid of all the extra software or junk that Acer (and all PC manufacturers) load their computers with. It was a big pain, but now my computer runs clean and faster. It works as I expected. Here's my advice: Buy direct from Microsoft, get Signature Edition computers. They don't come with any pre-installed software and work as they should. If you decide to get a smaller computer like this Acer, use some of the money you save to buy a full operating system CD and do a clean install out of the box. I couldn't believe how much junk Acer had added: my programs had grown from 40+ to 10+! Most of the time it's stuff you don't need and it will save you a lot of frustration later - and it's a much better solution than buying a computer that's too slow and then spending more money on decryptors and PC cleaners that might not do anything at all .
