Thin Fabric and Longer Sleeves

I don't know why manufacturers make women's with such long sleees - the sleeves on this t-shirt fall below my finger tips (a problem that is not unique to this manufacturer). This shirt is too thin to wear alone, but if you layer it, you lose the effect of the gnomes on the front. I've made this into a sleep shirt and it works well for that purpose.
