Works great for me.
Makes macro photography and wildlife tracking much easier than a ball head. I wasn't sure how often I would use this, but after seeing a friend use the one that cost him $90, I figured the reviews for it were as good or even better than the $90 one. I think $500 would be better, but not for my casual use. I attached the gimbal to my ball head and tightened it. I only used the stabilizer so I could just remove the ball head and attach the stabilizer directly to the tripod.
