Review on Sunco Lighting Integrated Downlight Installation Guide by Neil Bodell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Inexpensive, but for several reasons.

They are inexpensive for several reasons. First, the wires are short, the ground wire is only 3 inches long, making the nut difficult to install. Second, only 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the wires are stripped, which is insufficient for a proper wire nut installation. You need to continue stripping the wires, which is very difficult as they are short to begin with. Thirdly, the wire jacket is made of a very hard plastic and does not come off easily, a few strands break off easily. Fourth, I've only installed half of them so far and two are flickering. Finally, the instructions don't mention that any type of cable holder should be installed in the cable knockouts, I'm not sure but I don't think it's legal.

Pros
  • ✅ EASY INSTALLATION. Our moisture resistant Slim LED Downlights have a low profile for narrow ceilings. The junction box is integrated into the LED light. No bench is required, so it installs quickly. Cut a hole in the ceiling, then fold the spring-loaded brackets into the hole. Heavy-duty spring-loaded mounts fit any type of ceiling: double drywall, single drywall, and soffit.
