Review on Nooelec 7DBi ADS B Antenna Weatherproof by Paarvin Freedman

When I was looking for an ADB-S antenna I came across this one and saw the name NooElec and having owned several of their RTL-SDRs over the years I decided to give it a try . It arrived and I replaced my homemade 66mm ground antenna on my 20ft mast with a 7dB NooElec vertical antenna. Antenna. The fasteners securely fastened the antenna to the mast. Once up the mast I started testing the antenna to see how it picked up traffic and I wasn't impressed. As you can see in the attached images, the range was greatly reduced, and even only a few planes were decoded - judging by the nearby location I used as a reference, there were a lot of planes in the area. As an avid ham radio operator I have owned many different antennas for different purposes and this one has to be by far the worst of them all considering advertised performance and actual results. recharge or, even better, quickly brew a simple home-made beer.
