Works as intended

perfect for providing additional protection for an existing socket. The surge protection device is screwed onto the socket cover and is therefore reliable. Bought for an outlet behind the sofa. My cat kept pinning things by hitting her when he ran behind the couch. The old surge protector I had was too heavy, so the slightest push knocked it out. The cat has never knocked it out of the socket, so I still have peace of mind that my electronics are safe from surges without worrying about crazy cat jumps.
