I've tried several shaving bowls and this one keeps you warm. It is quite heavy and thick as it is marble. Inside there are ribs that shake the shaving cream and create a comfortable foam. But the best part is how long it stays warm. I pour cold water into a bowl and heat it in the microwave for 1:30 minutes. Then I soak the brush to keep it warm. Even after three passes, the thing is still very warm and the foam feels great. The only downside, if any, is that it is marble. So if you drop it, unlike stainless steel, the bowl will shatter.
