These spiral bands are smaller than average size. I can usually wrap a ponytail around a ponytail three times, but with this one I could only do it twice (and it was too loose). However, it worked well on my child's hair and is advertised as for children. On the outside it's a smooth material, almost silky, but most likely polyester. The hair does not pull when pulled out of the ponytail. The kid loved the bright colors of the rainbow. Even if she didn't wear it in her hair, she liked to wear it on her wrist. It comes in a small box and can be a cute stuffing for stockings or a small gift.
