I bought this for the Galaxy Note 8 but I expect it will work with other smartphones too. The mount comes in a nice package with an air conditioner mounting clip, a suction cup mount and a strong bracket made of hard ABS plastic with strong adhesive like 3M on one side. The suction cup mount is very strong, with a secure "lock" when you push the lever down. However, no suction cup works well on the soft leather on the curved surface of my dashboard. So I ripped out the hard gasket and taped it to the dash. Be sure to apply strong pressure over the entire surface for a few seconds, twice as much if it is a surface with some curvature. After that, the suction cup is perfectly fixed. It stays in place very stably after driving over bumpy surfaces. The freedom of movement is excellent, the actual part that holds the phone is infinitely adjustable on the axis of rotation. The support arm folds into a very compact package if like me you like to keep everything close to the dash. The horizontal arms slide out easily when you press the buttons and fall precisely around the phone. The leg doesn't block the charging port or the headphone jack, which is a big plus. There's a soft pad protecting the back of the phone, which is a thoughtful touch. The brackets are so wide that even a large cell phone case fits easily. I am very happy with this bracket which replaces a part I bought at a hardware store for a little more money which quickly broke. I'm sure it will last and I'm very pleased with the build quality, attention to detail and form factor.
