So far, so good! No problems out of the box. I will let you know if we have any problems. At first it was so bright that I think my fish were shocked because we ran with one light out for too long. But once I set the automatic it wasn't too bright at all. It does go up a bit but that doesn't bother me as we only replaced the light part of our hoods. We have a dual lens hood, but the single headlight worked great on our 55 gallons. One side of the bracket isn't perfectly shaped, but it still fits snugly and could probably be bent if that bothers me.
