I was moving out and the big GE fridge at the new location froze my insulin so I got paranoid, got a temp gauge, fiddled with the thermostat and it jumped between 37F and 45F. . . perfect for insulin but the fridge was over 40F most of the time - generally terrible for perishables and if I pushed the thermometer any lower I would risk refreezing my insulin. I've been complaining about companies still using mechanical thermostats these days and looked to Revain for a solution and found it. According to my chart, this thing offers significantly more accurate temperature control. I set it to 38 and it fluctuates between 36.1 and 39 - perfect. With the shelf extended, insulin pens fit perfectly in the vertical. So now he just has to do the last one. Fingers crossed. Update 28th November 2021: The fridge has been struggling to maintain temperature for the last few months and I had to turn the temperature up a bit to keep it from running continuously, resulting in the mold at the back of the fridge (oddly impressive). However today the thermostat read 117F which seemed to keep running. The temp briefly dropped to 35.6F, then rose to 38 and pretty much stayed there, but if the thermostat doesn't work I can't use it. I think everything is fine after just one year, but I remain a little disappointed.
