This shoe meets all our criteria for a boy. They wanted red, we wanted something light but strong and secure. It has a great grip on red stained food, a very secure attachment system and after a couple of weeks seems to be pretty solid so far. We bought it for my wife because our son is more comfortable. He thinks they're fine. Although he doesn't have particularly wide feet, he feels more comfortable in such shoes.
