Review on πŸ’¨ Efficient and Stylish: Hunter Fan Company 51314 Aerodyne Ceiling Fan, 52-Inch, Matte Black by Quartreal Eagleman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works great with HomeKit (Edited after 3 months)

Update: I still really like the fan but it has too many common HomeKit connectivity issues. This is a relatively quick fix to get it working properly, but still a little annoying. If someone else comes across this, remove your fan from the SimpleConnect Hunter app, which will automatically remove it from HomeKit as well. Then reconnect in simpleconnect like you did after installation and you're done. This was my first attempt at installing a ceiling fan myself. I've watched probably a dozen DIY videos on YouTube and felt like I got to the point of science even before there was a fan. After all was said and done I am very happy with the way it looks and performs. Basically I decided to buy this fan for HomeKit connection and so far so good. Saying "Hey Siri, turn the fan down to 25%" or "Turn the fan brightness down to 50%" really makes life easier. Control via the HomeKit app itself was great too. The physical remote that comes with the fan is fine. There is no way to control the dimmer on the lighting set (that I know of), which was my only issue. Otherwise it works quite well and looks clean. I think Aerodyne is the best value for a fan that works with HomeKit. If that's important to you and you're ready to upgrade, I recommend this fan.

Pros
  • Indoor Installation: The indoor ceiling fan is height adjustable with the included 3" and 2" rails to maintain proper ceiling clearance and optimize airflow; perfect fan for living room, living room and bedroom
Cons
  • can't remember but there was something
