There is no working mat

The downside to the amazing third row in the VW Atlas is that there is virtually no trunk lid that works the way I want it to (and how I want it to). people want) ). Most tonneau covers work when the third row is up but not when it's down, or they work when the third row is down but not when it's up. My problem is that I don't want to think ahead of time what kind of charging mat I need. I don't always know beforehand whether I need to raise the third row or not. Enter: foldable loading mat. I was hoping that the foldable charging mat would do double duty and work in all cases. This one does. The construction is great, it is made of durable material and has perfect dimensions. The problem is in the crease. When the seats are down this cover works great. When the seats are folded up, this cover sticks out a little. It doesn't really touch the passengers, but it does make the cargo area more difficult to use because it hangs awkwardly. The mat back grips the mat well when it's down, but when the third row is up it's not enough to hold onto the backs of the seats, so it sort of folds down. The reason the mat sticks out when the seats are up is because the seats fold down easily into the car. This means the coverage area is literally smaller (even if you turn the seatbacks on). I tried to work around this by cutting the loading mat along the fold line and tucking it into the car at the third row hinge. However, it reduced how much the mat snagged. If you now lower the third row, the loading mat is too small. The solution is a completely different type of carpet (which currently does not exist). Also, there is no hole in the mat to pull the third row (I cut holes in my mat). This makes it difficult to pull out the third row. Tl;Dr: The mat works as long as you don't mind it sticking out past the third row, and it doesn't take up cargo space when the third row is up - don't try to cut it to fix it.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No performance
