I bought these to block the holes allowing MICE to get into my house. So far they have helped, but you need to wrap the whole house and under the house with steel wool! I've never had much luck with poisons and hate traps as they still give me the urge to set the trap and empty it after catching a mouse. I also have an electronic rat killer (4 of them) and they work great. Unfortunately, the light that warns you when the mouse has been executed lights up even when there is no mouse in the living block. So you need to check it daily or more often.
