PCIe drive works

I've had a hard time finding a decent answer to this question, despite the specs saying 1 PCIe NVME drive (or it could be SATA if you prefer) and 1 SATA m. 2 drive list. I've seen in several reviews that both SATA and PCIe don't work. However, the slot on the motherboard supports PCIe. Next to the motherboard is a separate board with an M.2 connector that appears to only support SATA drives. This is really a small computer that is very suitable for office tasks. I plan to use it in a game table for cards and music and as a portable device to connect to my TV for streaming and maybe even some games.
