No one has peed on these blankets (yet.hopefully never!) so I can't attest to that aspect, but they're heavy-feeling, and it makes me feel confident and relieved that my freshly-cleaned sofas are now being protected. Before this purchase one of my cats peed only one time on the sofa recently--a shocker--and I was surprised that there were so few products that address this issue.I like the blanket-idea over the fitted-sofa-cover-idea because (1) these blankets cover every part of my sofa, and (2) if it scooches a little, no one can tell the difference--It's not aggravating like the fitted covers in that way--and (3) when my cat-allergic-guests come over, I can just yank these off rather than unhook and unstrap the fitted ones.Just as someone else commented, hair and kitty litter seem to cling to these blankets, but there are tools for that (hair remover sponge and microfiber mitts), and I have them! No biggy. Of all the products I found like this one, Mambe is the only one that comes large enough and rectangular in shape, making it perfect for sofas (while still versatile for beds as well). I haven't washed/dried these yet, but so far I'm really pleased with this product!
