Unwanted Hard Drive Bags and Cases

No matter what I do, it won't connect at USB 3.0 speeds. The device keeps flashing the red LED indicating it's working as 2.0, which can be confirmed by the pathetic baud rates. Windows 7 x64 BSOD once while running SSD through this adapter. Documentation requires downloading an "AI Turbo" utility from [. ] to "increase transmission speed". At the time of writing this review, the site [.] was conveniently closed. After tracking down a copy of AI Turbo on another website and installing it in my car, it didn't improve transmission one iota. As an added bonus, it turns out that if I don't have an SSD or HDD connected to this adapter during Windows boot, all other USB devices connected to the computer (i.e. including a keyboard and mouse) are disabled. Also, Windows will hang on OS shutdown if no hard drive is connected to the adapter. EDIT 1: Got a replacement block from SYBA. The replacement shows exactly the same problems. EDIT 2: After a few cycles of installing and uninstalling different versions of the motherboard's USB and chipset drivers, and a few OS reboots, I finally connected at speed 3.0. This is the only USB 3.0 device I have that requires this particular combination of drivers, all others seem to work fine without them. The adapter continues to behave strangely, occasionally connecting in read-only mode. There were a few random disconnects during read/write operations (ie the drive disappeared into Windows). EDIT 3: I tried using this to install Ubuntu on a spare Intel SSD drive I had. It took several reboots for the BIOS to recognize the drive as bootable. After booting into Ubuntu, after 10-15 seconds the drive becomes unusable (i.e. the drive is randomly disconnected or becomes write-protected).
