Review on πŸšͺ Safety 1st Pressure Mount Lift, Lock and Swing Gate - Adjustable Width: 28 to 42 inches by Jamie Smith

I don't want the baby upstairs and it's at the bottom of the stairs and there's an emergency.

I bought this gate to keep dogs on the ground I am on. He'll come back unless someone can tell me how to open and close the damn thing efficiently. It must have taken about 15 minutes or more to try to get the handle past the unlock icon. I ended up doing that, trying to steady the gate with my feet and holding the trigger with both hands, pulling hard on the handle because at that moment I didn't care if I broke that damn thing. Even the gate didn't move because some genius at the factory thought it wise to put the gear inside the gate. The fixing package pinched the two plates so I couldn't get them to slide. I had to use a spatula to hold the gate with one hand and guide the spatula with the other to push it out. This was of course after my hand, which wasn't huge, got stuck a bit. I then went down the stairs to attach it and gave up after wasting time. Maybe this part needs some use, oiling or something, but I couldn't try to slide the plates and fix them between the holes. I practically had to stand on my head to see if the handle would slide down to cover the panels, which it did on more than one occasion. I don't have the patience for that. So I'm sending it back. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and do a few minor fixes around the house, but that was PITA. I wouldn't rate it stars but didn't want anyone to think I forgot that section but 1 is way too high for the piece I got.
