Overall I am satisfied with the purchase of this illuminated magnifier. I read reviews that said the clamp was cheap and didn't think so. It's superior to the one I'm replacing in every way but one. I wish the light was more intense, but that's enough. My old magnifying lamp often fell apart because the threaded part connecting the arm to the magnifying glass was so short that bending the handle up and down to adjust the field of view often caused the lighted part of the lens to fall off the handle. This required disassembling the lens component to put the nut back onto the threaded portion of the arm. It became a real pain. The construction of this new one is much more solid and I don't expect such a problem with it.
