and also easier than an areometer to check the salinity in the marine aquarium. 01/15/2021 Update, I'm having problems with this device. It doesn't appear to be properly calibrated, although the box says it was factory calibrated. My saltwater aquarium readings were lower than I expected. I live in the Atlantic Ocean (outer coast of North Carolina) so I decided to test natural seawater. Seawater should be 34-36 ppt. The device showed 28 ppt, salinity 2.8%. The conductivity for sea water should be 53 mS/cm, the device showed 45.8 mS/cm. The bulb/alcohol thermometer reads 72 degrees Fahrenheit, the instrument reads 67.8 degrees Fahrenheit. The same readings were obtained in the aquarium as in the ocean. 1 and return the device before the expiry date. Update 01/27/2021 Citzada refunded my purchase due to issues I encountered. Your service/response was great, unfortunately the product didn't work. What a shame, great idea at a great price.
