Review on Labmat Bench Liner F24675 0000 by Bel Art by Dustin Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Absorbs a lot of liquid and protects table surfaces

All in all this lab bench pad is a good product. The liner does a good job of preventing soaking and contamination from liquids and chemicals that are compatible with the polyethylene backing. The liner also provides a limited amount of wicking fluid for smaller spills. The lining also generates minimal lint or dust, which is a huge plus. In other words, it's a thin coating for any surface where chemicals and liquids are used. The PE liner also helps keep the bench in place and prevent it from slipping, which is crucial. Some of the earbuds we've used have a poor grip and require tape to keep them in place. However, the lining is relatively fragile and so obviously not designed for physical protection. The 50ft roll is endless so scissors are required to cut the liner to length. The liner roll box is relatively light and we struggled to slide the liner through the slot. We finally gave up, pulled the carrier roll out of the box, pulled out the required amount and cut it off. The only problem we had was the price. Our benches are eight feet long, so one roll is enough for five benches or one bench for five. Covering a $10 bank may not be a big deal for some organizations, but in the context of a school chemistry lab, for example, where the liner has to be removed at the end of each lesson, costs skyrocket. quickly. Of course the need remains, so either find a cheaper solution which we have yet to find, teach kids how not to spill chemicals (good luck with that), or figure out how to pay for a liner that does actually one is one of the cheapest liners with protective properties. Although we find fault with the price, this liner works well functionally. While the absorbency is designed for "minor" spills, in most cases only small amounts of chemicals are used, so "minor" chemicals work quite well. We could have wished for a slightly thicker PE protective layer, but we also use this liner with a rubber backing to minimize glass breakage, so the thickness of the PE isn't usually a major concern. Four stars for a product that meets our needs.
