This is the second one I bought for my child growing up. He loves her. My son has a sensory processing disorder and hates big puffy coats, hates even being a little hot and thicker coats are too heavy for him. They are perfect and keep him warm over a sweatshirt. I wouldn't expect it to be warm enough to play in the snow, but as long as it's a mild New England winter day, it's comfortable to run outside or commute to and from school. The large inner pockets are also nice and are open at the top instead of on the side so that things don't fall out so quickly. It also tucks away easily/fits on his bookshelf if he gets too hot.
