Just a slight sheen.
I like it very much. this is my first background. The quality of the material is polyester and I have no problem with it. It's a little shiny but that wasn't a problem for me as it has dyed color variations so it wasn't a problem. I can't comment on the transparency because I put it on my frame against a wall with no windows. I can't see through the background of the TV and the image behind it when looking at it from the front of a sunlit room.
