The images on the product page for this item can be confusing as they show whole peppercorns, but these are dispensers, not coffee grinders. The shakers' very attractive glass construction and lids which offer a choice of two hole sizes and an opening for condiments such as crushed red peppers make them very appealing. If your family has table condiments that are used regularly, you may need one set for salt and pepper and another set for condiments. At my house, that would be shredded red peppers and toasted sesame seeds.
