I have tried plastic screen protectors in the past and have always been disappointed. The film material tended to scratch too easily, didn't feel like glass, bubbles kept forming during installation, and there was always that nasty orange peel effect that affected image quality. That's why I've been using glass screen protectors on my phones for as long as I can remember. However, there weren't any really good ones for the OnePlus 8 Pro. I've tried several of these, even some of the UV glue, and never had a perfect setup. The UV system in particular was very dirty. There was always bubbles, dust, pet hair or whatever ruining the viewing experience. And they all ended up peeling off at the edges, especially inside the case. I first tried a different brand of plastic screen protector for this phone and it had some of the same issues as other plastic screen protectors. So I searched for plastic screen protectors for OnePlus 8 Pro and found that this screen protector is highly rated. After reading the reviews I thought it was too good to be true but I ordered it and gave it a try anyway. I'm glad I did. The installation process was pretty easy, although you still have to be careful not to get dust on the screen as the screen protector wasn't very sticky and didn't remove dust well. So keep that dust sticker handy. After installation, the protective film slightly shifted from the center and several bubbles appeared. The bubbles appeared after a bit of work, and my screen looks almost perfect apart from a noticeable line down the center of the screen protector. I hope it goes away with time. The screen protector scratches easily due to the nature of the material, but it is self-healing to some extent and if it gets too scratched there are plenty of substitutes in the packaging. Most importantly, the installation went smoothly and very quickly. At the time of writing, there was no apparent orange peel on the screen (which is why I've avoided plastic screen protectors in the past), but we'll see if that works. This happens over time and I will update my review accordingly. The screen protector is fairly easy to get smudges of fingerprints, oils, grease and water, so be prepared to clean it regularly. The fingerprint scanner works as if there were no protector at all. Finally, I would like to note the material. While not 100% the same as glass, it's pretty damn close. I'm thrilled, especially the price. Nearly perfect.
