Review on JBL Flip 4 Teal: The Ultimate Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker by Agata Uchman ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The right product for me, the price suited me.

Hi all. For several years I have tried many Chinese speakers. I like the sound clean, with soft bass - I still like the sound of the Technics music center. Rombica BT-23, Remax RB-M9, Digma-S15 and S-42 and the like left a good impression, I won’t write about the monstrous number of speakers with Ali (like TG and T2), but everything was not right. Until I realized that a good product cannot be cheap and bought a JBL FLIP5 speaker through an online store for 6 without wiretapping, so to speak blindly, based on reviews on the Internet. For me personally, it is important to work out the sound in the entire range, especially the bass. Well, the volume is in nature, sit by the fire to the music. I compare and describe only my impressions with those Chinese speakers that I had. Summary: Flip 5 is a good speaker, but there are flaws.

Pros
  • 1. Clear bass 2. Loud sound, by the numbers peak 20W 3. A convenient format for me - the size of a can of beer. Can be carried with you, fits into a bicycle bottle holder (with difficulty, you need to open the latches), into a backpack pocket 4. Powerful battery, according to the numbers the same 12 hours of operation as the 4th generation. At maximum speed, I drove for 3 hours until the red indicator, I think the battery has not yet swung, and the new one was not 100% charged. When listening at a maximum of 4 hours, there was a charge of about 40%. 5. There is a visual indication of the remaining battery charge right on the speaker, although my phone shows the battery percentage as a percentage when connecting any cheap speaker (and headphones) via bluetooth. And the current charge of Flip 5 does not show. 6. It seemed more confident reception of the bluetooth signal (greater distance than cheap speakers) 7. Dust and moisture protection. Although the charging port is not covered by anything. Hope it doesn't come in handy, but so be it ;)
Cons
  • 1. Mono sound is one speaker. At first I thought little things, but no, there is a noticeable lack of stereo when you listen by setting a speaker nearby 2. It is not possible to rewind the track. Or I did not understand how to do it. 3. Seemed a little heavy compared to others 4. It is impossible to answer a call directly through the speaker - there is no microphone 5. Making the sound quietly - background noise is heard. Everyone has cheap speakers, somewhere louder, somewhere quieter. I thought JBL didn't have it. For me, this is a tangible minus, and for such money 6. Branded lace is too small for my hand. Already tied with a branded knot 7. Does not connect with previous generations of JBL speakers. I don't have others, but when meeting friends who have JBL speakers, but no Party Boost - it's a little sad. 8. Charging port - USB Type-C. For me, this is a minus, since far from everyone has switched to USB Type-C memory (for example, this is my first device, all gadgets are charged via Micro USB). Now you need to carry this cable with you in order to charge it in case of force majeure. It should be noted that it charges really quickly, about 2.5-3 hours, considering the battery capacity of 4800mA 9. Last but not least: The price is high

Different pros: Loud. Quality in terms of reset. Cons below: Wheezing after two weeks.

Didn't suit me. I like to listen from a flash drive and sometimes the radio
