My expectations were low but not met

My previous sport headphones were Bose and when I needed to replace them earlier this year I bought them because they were a lot cheaper. However, they were very unsatisfactory. I've owned this pair for almost 5 months so my comments reflect hundreds of uses: GOOD: - Sound quality is decent for the price. However, it's only good if you put the earbuds firmly in your ear. I had to play around with numerous tips and fins until I found a combination that worked for my ear. If the headphones aren't placed deep in the ear, there is no bass at all and the volume is low. The battery life is more than sufficient. I use them 5 or 6 times a week for about 5 hours only and I only charged them once a week. And not because they were dead. i could go longer BAD: - The Bluetooth implementation is very buggy. I mainly use them to listen to music and make phone calls while running. When I'm listening to music and a call comes in 90% of the time, the sound of the call doesn't go through the headphones. I could have answered the call but I couldn't hear the caller and they couldn't hear me. So I would have to hang up and then make a call from my phone to talk. This is very inconvenient when trying to walk. This wasn't an issue until I first started listening to music, but that's not a common use case. The microphone is very sensitive to its position. The microphone is located next to the volume controls, which are connected to the right cable. So if it is turned in the wrong direction, the interlocutor can hardly hear me. I almost have to keep the mic pointed at my mouth at all times. - After 5 months of use, the headphones stopped responding to the buttons. I can turn on the headphones, but the buttons are unusable afterwards. I can't adjust the volume or even turn off my headphones. They eventually turn off, but only after the battery has been drained for several hours. I don't think I would mind that much if these $40 headphones died after 5 months, other than that they were a disappointment the whole time.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
