2000 Mile Road Trip

I'll admit I almost overlooked this bike rack because of the price - I was concerned that a lower price point would mean lower quality compared to some other more expensive, more well known brands. and that was definitely NOT the case. It's a solid, well-made device and was ready to use as soon as it was taken out of the box. It was relatively easy to fit into my husband's car (a 2006 Nissan Altima) and not drive anywhere immediately. We have just returned from an extended trip to visit family and it had 2 adult and 1 youth bike totaling over 2000 miles and the only issues we had were that (1) it was about 20 miles took to adjust the straps. so they don't vibrate (make an awful noise) when the car accelerates, and (2) find the right way to place the bikes - see my tips below. I have absolutely no other complaints, had no problems and would have no hesitation in recommending this bike rack. TIPS: 1. Line up, strap on your bikes and ride at full speed to see how the straps respond. You may need to tie them together, pull them up, or find a way to hold them together to reduce vibration2. This says it's a bike rack for 4 bikes but if you're transporting a sedan it probably only really fits 3. I see if it's mounted on a van or SUV it'll fit 43 better. a special handlebar adapter if you have a women's bike. Some children's bicycles can do without them.4. Place small and light bikes closer to the inside of the rack and closer to the vehicle. We found that when the youth bike was outside, sometimes when we hit a bump, the weight of the other wheels would pull the youth bike out of the mounts (although the straps still held the bike onto the rack) (updated 04 /2015 with photos from last summer)
