I just don't understand all the positive reviews for this product. All compartments are very small, which limits their usefulness. The compartment under the center of rotation of the upper shells is difficult to access. One of the rotating compartments is divided into sections, making it unusable for pens or brushes. The "latches" that hold the top trays in place are made of cheap materials that won't stay in place. I have to admit that it looks good, but calling it an art set is really an exaggeration. Certainly not worth the price. Should have returned. I've found it works well for paying bills: a check book in a desk drawer, Pens and pencils in one wing, stamps and return addresses in another, a small calculator in the main body.
