Review on Microsoft PD9 00003 Surface Dock by Matt Buchanan

I really wanted to like it but after spending several evenings and weekends with it I gave up. It just doesn't recognize the external display that I connect to it with any number of cables. • I've used Mini-DP for HDMI, Mini-DP for 4K-HDMI, Mini-DP for DP, and Mini-DP for DVI (I have two cables of each type). from these cables). • I tried a 30 inch Dell 2560x1600 monitor, a brand new Samsung 4K display and an old Dell 1920x1200 display. • I've tried HDMI, DVI and DP and absolutely every combination and combination of cables and displays. • All of these displays and cables work with my other laptop and desktop. • I updated the docking station firmware, it didn't help. • I downloaded the dock registry tweak, it didn't help. • I installed all updates, it didn't help. My Surface Book 2 never recognized external displays. it does not work. They promised to call me back the next morning with a solution, which they never did. I've tried every solution available online and none of them have worked. Unfortunately, when I searched Google for a solution, I read that some people have the exact same problem and it never worked for them. I cannot recommend this product to anyone. If I hadn't thrown the box away like an idiot I would have sent it back immediately. With a Surface Book 2, dock, cables, and a new 4K display, I got over $4,000 for a system that doesn't work. There's nothing cool about that.
