Review on ALPS Mountaineering Ultra Light Shelter Charcoal by Edwin Kreps

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It costs $100 damn, but is it a good product?

First test of the ultra-light tarpaulin for mountaineering in the Alps. These were fairly small packs about the size of a 16 ounce water bottle, bets remind me of Rice's "GroundHog Minis" which is a very reputable and reliable brand and they work just as well which is a plus. Recommendations are decent some good quality they seem like cheap strings but works great, on my recent trip to Shenandoah National Forest I set this up over my hammock and ran lines to branches and rocks and it worked fine it was a bit windy in the mountains which is to be expected but was unusually windy. 30-40mph wind gusts and a simple knot at each attachment point worked great, but I would recommend this tarp primarily to hammock campers because I don't know how I would assemble this tarp without a hammock, which is odd.
