Bought this device to monitor the humidity levels in our closets and dressing rooms around our home. Some rooms in our home have more mold than others. Took comparative measurements from different rooms and toilets. Tried heater rods in toilets to see if they help lower relative humidity. Tried running the central air conditioning in one of the bedrooms in DRY mode to see if the air conditioning was working to reduce the relative humidity (RH) and it was working. I like the large digital display and the ease of use. Moved the instrument around cabinets in different rooms of the house to get a picture of the humidity levels in those rooms and to confirm the likelihood and severity of dampness and the possibility of mold. I've only been using this meter for about a week, but I think it's important for checking the relative humidity and mold in your home. Concerned about the power consumption of any mold device I use, I try various other methods to see if they work before resorting to a dehumidifier. The odorless Hanging Damp Rid collects a lot of liquid in its pouch, but the closet's relative humidity hasn't decreased noticeably. Heaters don't lower relative humidity quickly and I may need more time. If you want to systematically counteract mold problems, you should seriously consider purchasing this tool.
