A lot is done right in this bag. The hardware makes a well thought-out impression. Grips on Blitzmetall, Blitzen work fine. Having tried LOTS of bags lately, I'm impressed with how easy the zippers are when I reach for the compartments. Some of my checked bags had jagged zippers that scratched my hands when I reached into the compartments. None of that is here. I also like that the main compartments have elastic straps to keep items in place. I really wanted this bag to be a keeper. The bag also had some issues - mostly minor ones and a deal breaker. The outer pocket is free. Once you've packed the bag, there's no way to secure items inside, which is odd given the detail inside. Second, the color scheme (I ordered pink). This does not correspond to modern ideas of beauty. The pink is more of a light lilac/dusty pink. It looks a bit dirty like this shop floor which can soil your luggage after taking it off the plane. The beige color on the inside doesn't help much. The combination just isn't right. There is nothing modern in the coloring. I'd say it looks like what my grandmother would wear, but she'd say it's not very pretty either. (I know looks aren't everything, but this bag holds the things we use to make us feel beautiful. The fact that it looks tired is a disappointment at first glance.) The outer shell is very soft and Doesn't appear to have anything waterproof in it (breach of contract). It's already looking worn, but the fabric absorbs everything it touches, including any products left on the hair and makeup counter. It's frustrating. So close.
