Keep the lid closed if you want it to stay hot

The mug feels very light which I wasn't expecting. Just did a test by pouring 12 ounces of boiling water (it can't handle 14 without spilling) into this mug with a lid but an open slot for drinks and the same into a hard plastic Starbucks mug with a lid. Results: After 4 minutes both were at 174 degrees. After 10 minutes the cup was still 174 degrees, Starbucks 151 degrees. After 30 minutes mug at 150 degrees. Starbucks at 125. I was surprised but happy. The handle is very thin and the mug itself is not very high quality. I love the lid and hope it lasts a long time. I think for the price there are better mugs out there.
